Program Overview
D'Youville College is proud to offer the doctoral (Ed.D.) program in Educational Leadership. This program is designed exclusively for practicing educational professionals who customarily would have completed a 36 to 60 hour master's or post-master's course of study. For this reason, up to 45 hours of relevant course work, consistent with the aims and goals of the doctoral program, will be accepted for transfer credit. In the event applicants have less than 45 hours of prior graduate work, prerequisite courses will be necessary to complete the total required. The curriculum focuses on contemporary and projected issues in education and prepares graduates to fill positions of leadership in educational institutions and organizations. As well, the design offers a professional concentration in cultural perspectives, advanced curriculum issues, assessment and use of instructional technology. All students are provided with extensive preparation in research and analysis, organizational behavior, communications, law and policy, and finance. The curriculum involves advanced graduate work beyond the professional master's degree in an education-related field. It is comprised of 13 courses including dissertation research, writing and defense. | |||||||||||||||||||
